Why Content Matters
Do people still use websites?
Do the words on the website even matter anymore?
Why can’t I just use Chat GPT?
Believe it or not, the words on your website can make or break your business. Keep reading to learn why they matter and how to make them do all the hard work for you.

5 Reasons Written Content Matters
The words you choose to publish on your website are just as important as the photography and videos. Even if people just skim through the headlines, they are still reading your words. And your words matter.
They are your first impression to your audience. As we all know, first impressions are the most important ones of all. There are five reasons that the words on your site deserve attention and focus.
1. Branding
Every business (and yes, blogs are a small business) is a brand. And every brand has a voice. If you think about it, every brand is like a specific person. Nike is a no-nonsense, driven athlete. Stur water flavorings is a health-conscious mom. Prime Energy Drinks is a dude at the gym.
All the words on your website must be written in the voice of your brand. It’s vital to the brand loyalty of your customers and readers.
Think about it. If someone has a website selling crystals and tarot cards, but the site reads like a college paper, who is going to trust that site? It just doesn’t make sense.
2. SEO
Every single page and post that you publish has the potential to be indexed by Google. These posts compete with others online and the ones at the top attract clicks and traffic. This traffic can bring you customers and readers.
The process of competing to rank high in search engines is called SEO, or Search Engine Optimization.
In order to rank high, you need to use words that people are using to find what you’re writing. For example, if you sell crystals, you might want to write a post about “The best crystals to help induce dreams.” But after a bit of keyword research, you realize people don’t take time to type all those words into Google.
Instead, they are typing “Best Crystals For Dreaming.” There is your new blog post title. Then, the keyword research will also tell you to include information about “best crystals for lucid dreaming” and “best crystals for manifesting dreams.”
I get it, SEO is a LOT of work. If you want to outsource it, let me know!
3. Trust and Loyalty
The words you use also build trust and loyalty. If people continually find spelling and grammar errors, they won’t trust anything else you’re telling them.
By writing in a consistent voice and paying attention to details, people will begin to rely on you. They’ll return. They’ll tell everyone about your site!
4. Accuracy
Have you heard the phrase, “my word is my bond”? That is a million per cent true with our websites. Every single person that lands on your site is a potential customer. And you don’t welcome them with a smile and handshake.
Nope. You welcome them with your words. The content on the page is a reflection of you.
This is your chance to be super accurate. Down to the finest detail. And accuracy builds that trust.
5. Site Usability
Finally, the words you use will make or break how easy it is to navigate and use your site.
Clunky sites that are difficult to use will fail. It’s as simple as that.
If you want to be successful, you have to create menus that are easy to read. Write posts that people can skim. And create product descriptions that are accurate and easy to understand.
Don’t Rely on Chat GPT
I know, AI is making life so much easier….but it comes with a catch. It’s not very accurate and it can’t capture your unique voice.
A lot of professionals and entrepreneurs use ChatGPT, but with caution. They use it to create an outline for their posts and then they add the data and the voice.
It’s ok to use ChatGPT, but a real human will give your posts dimension, accuracy, and a single voice that will reflect your brand.
